Editing Before & Afters | Maren Elizabeth Photography
I’ve spent the last 10 years, ever since I started doing photography, trying to perfect my editing style and feel like I’ve finally found a place where I love my images. I love the golden light and vibrant colors in them SO much. It’s so fun to see the before and afters of my editing, so I thought I would share them with you!
Editing has been a roller coaster for me over the years. When I started out I vividly remember way over-saturating my images to the point that they looked fake. I’ve tried all the trends like light and airy, dark and moody, and everything in between but inevitably would get tired because they just didn’t feel like me.
This probably seems really obvious, but I finally realized that I had to know what I wanted my images to look like, what spoke to me as an artist and what kind of images I wanted to deliver to my clients. I settled on bright, vibrant, timeless, and true to color.
About this time I also discovered presets, if you’re not using them you definitely should be! They are such a game changer in speeding up my workflow and help me keep my editing consistent across every image and session. The base for my editing style is the Ektar 100 preset from Mastin Labs in the Adventure Everyday pack. I just love what it does for my skin tones and colors.
