I keep saying it because it keeps getting more and more true! My favorite part of my first year living in Arizona is discovering new, beautiful places just like this one. Tom’s Thumb Trailhead in North Scottsdale where these family pictures were taken is definitely now in my top 10!
The Best Time of Year for Family Pictures at Tom’s Thumb Trailhead
To catch the mountains this green you’ll want to schedule your session for spring, March, and early April. The benefit of scheduling your family pictures in the spring is you catch Arizona at its best, not too hot, not cold, perfectly warm.
Plan on a little hike
To get to this specific location near the trailhead plan on about a quarter-mile hike. Pack your walking shoes and change into your heels after the walking is over. Your feet will thank you.
Beautiful! and fun for the whole family
I think my absolute favorite thing about this location for Family Pictures is how family-friendly it is. Your kids can move around and explore here, there’s room to play together without tripping into a cactus. And it’s just so beautiful! I’ll definitely be visiting again next year!
