Wind Cave Family Pictures | Fall Color Palette | East Valley Photographer
This Wind Cave family pictures session was so much fun to plan with Randa for her Family. I needed a family to model this fall color palette for me for my new client style guide and knew they would be perfect! We planned their session within the week and it turned out amazing!
Wondering how we did it? The day after we settled the date and time I stopped by Randa’s home to go through her families closets. We pulled out absolutely everything that fit our predetermined fall color palette and gathered it in a central location. Then we started narrowing things down. We started with mom (Randa), because that is always my first tip to styling your session, start with mom and build from there. We knew we wanted a variety of colors and to mix up the colors on top and bottom for variety. When we were finished we were still missing a few outfits so we took pictures and planned a shopping trip to target the next day. At target we basically just repeated the process pulling everything that fit our color palette and then narrowing things down again. If we weren’t sure, Randa just bought a few options since target has an easy return policy. Finally, Randa borrowed a dress from my client wardrobe for her youngest and this is the end result, doesn’t it look great!?
I know what you’re thinking, but Maren, surely you can’t go shopping with all your clients. My response; WHY NOT!? Okay I might not physically be able to go with you but I am just as committed to helping you every step of the way whether its in person or via face time or even texting. Besides choosing your photographer your wardrobe will have the biggest impact on how your final images look. I will work with you until you’re 100% confident in the end result and excited for your family pictures.
Wind Cave Trailhead
The Wind Cave Trailhead is in Usery Mountain Regional Park. There is a $7/vehicle entrance fee and the parking lot gets full during peak hiking times so arrive early to make sure you can find a spot. This is a beautiful desert location located not far from Mesa and Gilbert city centers. Multiple nearby trails offer a variety of backdrops within easy walking distance. A great spot for your East Valley Family Pictures.
